Carly Gessin is a native New Yorker, graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Kinesiology and Certificate in Journalism. Throughout her youth she was a member of the Rockland Youth Dance Ensemble and through college was a company member of the Indiana University Dance Theatre.

During her senior year at Indiana Carly became a featured dancer with the New Saint Louis Opera. She has worked with Carolyn Adams, Robert Battle, Martha Wittman, Chet Walker, Bill Hastings, and Bill Evans as well as performed at Madison Square Garden, the World Dance Alliance conference, and the American College Dance Festival.
