Accomplished musician, writer, producer and engineer Joey Arminio takes 25 years of experience to his best project to date.   After leading two successful groups The Wanderers and AJ and the Hearts, he has created an act that combines great music, comedy, dance, and lots of heart called Joey Arminio & “The Family”.   Known for their great harmonies, dance numbers, and authentic renditions of legendary classics, Joey Arminio & “The Family” has brought audiences to tears while receiving thunderous applause and shouts of “encore”.  This young retro group combines Doo wop, Broadway, USO, Rock n Roll and Rat Pack in a way that hasn’t been seen since the years of the great Variety Shows.  Celebrating their 10th year together, JAF has begun to soar to new heights.

Leader Joey Arminio has a unique, brawly saxophone style that is coveted by many national acts and his impressive track record includes appearances with such rock n roll greats as:

Gary U.S. Bonds, Freddie Paris & the Five Satins, Frankie Ford, The Platters, Johnny Maestro & the Brooklyn Bridge The Crystals, The Belmont's, Vito and the Salutations, The Del Vikings, The Platters, The Cleftones, The Coasters, Screaming J Hawkins, Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, The Regents, The Dubs, Lenny Welch, Freddy Parris & the Five Satins, The Dovells, The Jive Five, Randy and the Rainbows, The Elegants, Frankie Ford, The Mellow Kings, The Impalas, The Shirelles, Larry Chance and the Earls, Freddy Cannon, Brian Hylan, Tommy Roe, The Quotations, Johnny Tilison, Bowser, Nipsy Russel, MTV's Smitty and with Carol Conners on nationally televised PBS Doo Wop Love Songs hosted by Cousin Brucie.   In fact whenever The Regents (Barbara Ann, 1961) are in town, they call Joe to guest star on Sax.

Joey has enjoyed performing with members of Bruce Springsteen’s E-Street Band and Southside Johnny’s band for benefits in Asbury Park such as Save the Carousel, 3M Concert, and Jam ’86 in Asbury Park’s Stone Pony.    Joey Arminio & “The Family” has been featured on Don K. Reed’s doo wop shop several times as well as WIBG with host Bobby Emmons.

His group has performed at the Westbury Music Fair, Garden State Arts Center, New Orleans Rock Festival, Arts Stock’s Spring Break Tour, Convention Hall in Asbury Park, and most recently Joey Arminio & “The Family” toured Florida at State of the Art Theaters such as The Villages, Delray Beach, Huntington Beach and Tampa.   The Act has received standing ovations at the Wildwood Convention Center many times as well as The Count Basie Theater and the Strand Theater.
